THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On September 14, 2014 approximately 8:45 am a vehicle was stopped for an IVC violation.  Upon further investigation, Amanda Mosley, 26, of Taylorville was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and released on notice to appear from Taylorville Police Department. 

ACCIDENT:

On September 9, 2014 Melody Wagner, 38, of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Park Street near the intersection of Park and Main Streets.   Taylor Neeley, 16, of Taylorville was attempting to turn east onto Park Street.  Neeley stopped, proceeded into the intersection, was was struck by Wagner, causing damage.  Both vehicles were unable to be driven from the scene. 

On September 14, 2014 at 10:42 am officers were sent to a two vehicle accident at Adams and Powers.  Officers approved and observed a small SUV and motorcycle involved. Amanda Umberger, 27, of Taylorville stated she stopped at the stop sign and proceeded and did not see Patrick Cooper, 54, of Taylorville and Cooper struck her.  Umberger stated that after Cooper struck her vehicle, he was on her hood and fell off when she came to a stop.  Cooper stated he though Umberger ran the stop sign and he could not get stopped in time and struck Umberger.  Cooper had minor injuries and was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment.  A witness stated that Umberger stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection ans was struck by Cooper.  No injuries were reported to Umberger or her passenger.  Both vehicles were towed. Umberger was issued a citation for failing to yield stop/yield intersection and Cooper was issued citation for violation of classification(motorcycle) and no nsurance.
