Taylorville Police are investigating a possible arson case that took place Saturday(9-13). An officer was reportedly called out just before 11:00am to 708 West Vandeveer on reports of a suspicious person. The officer apparently saw smoke coming from the garage of the residence and summoned the Fire Department. They extinguished the fire.

 According to the reports, the homeowner identified a woman who may have been responsible. She was located and interviewed.

 There may have been an arrest in the case. The Christian County Sheriff's Office reports processing the arrest of a 33 year-old Taylorville woman Saturday on arson charges, but it's unclear if that is connected to this case.

 Police say the matter remains under investigation.
