Although we usually hear about vehicles striking deer in the roadway, an accident late last month involved an even larger animal.  

According to reports, a Christian County Sheriff's Deputy was patrolling in the area of Route 48 near 300 North road on August 29th. The officer reportedly saw a semi tractor trailer parked on the southbound shoulder with what appeared to be front end damage. The driver, 59 year old Melvin Brocksiek of Lafayette Indiana apparently told the deputy he had struck a cow that had wandered onto the highway.
