Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 8-12-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Raymond C. Simmons, 54, of Taylorville, was arrested on August 11, 2014 for meth manufacturing and possession of meth materials.

Tina M. Tirpak, 48, of Taylorville, was arrested on August 11, 2014 for meth manufacturing and possession of meth materials.

Briar D. Samson, 19, of Taylorville, was arrested on August 11, 2014 for meth manufacturing and possession of meth materials.

Khristopher G. Koonce, 23, of Taylorville, was arrested on August 11, 2014 on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Ashley Y. Dye, 20, of Oakland, was arrested on August 12, 2014 for domestic battery.

Jesse A. Williams, 24, of Taylorville was arrested on August 11, 2014 for obstructing justice and driving on a suspended license.

On August 11, 2014, Complainant, Vincent N. Drnjevic called the Christian County Sheriff's Office to report unknown subject(s) removed his riding lawn mower from the backyard, located at 1305 S. Robin Street in Hewittville. The incident occurred sometime between 4:00 PM on August 10,2014 and 9:00 AM on August 11, 2014.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS/CRASHES:

On August 7, 2014 at 7:06 pm, a Taylorville Police Department Officer was flagged down in regards to a suspicious male subject walking South on Main Street. The Officer located the subject, Kevin M. Rensman, 22, of Edinburg. Rensman was placed under arrest for public intoxication, transported to the Taylorville Police Department, and later released on a notice to appear.

On August 12, 2014 at 12:43 a.m., Taylorville Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Big Bend Rd. to reference of battery. Ashley Y. Dye, 20, of Oakland was arrested for domestic battery and a warrant out of Edgar County. Dye was transported to the Taylorville Police Department for processing. Dye was then transported to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

On August 12, 2014 at 12:01 am, a Taylorville Police Department Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at E. Franklin and Paw Paw. Brandon M. Banning, 20, of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license suspended. Banning was transported to the Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.

On August 8, 2014 at approximately 3:07 pm, Taylorville Police Department Officers were dispatched to Park Street at Shawnee for an accident with no personal injuries. Upon arrival, the vehicles involved were pulled off the roadway into a nearby business parking lot. When speaking with Amy J. Nicol, 62, of Pana and Ciera Fuller, 19, of Moweaqua, they both stated they were traveling westbound on Park Street when Fuller stopped quickly, and Nicol rear ended Fuller. Fuller sustained significant damage to the rear end of the vehicle, and Nicol had minor front end damage and damage to the radiator. Nicol was towed from the scene but wanted a private tow. Nicol was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.

On August 9, 2014 at approximately 4:34 pm, Taylorville Police Department Officers were dispatched to Lincoln Trail at Route 48 for an accident with no personal injuries. Upon arrival, a Taylorville Police Department Officer observed Kimberly L. Olsen, 26, of Hartsville behind Sara E. Lowe, 33, of Decatur. The Officers then moved the vehicles into a nearby parking lot to get them off the road. When speaking with Olsen and Lowe, they stated that Lowe was stopped at the stop light behind traffic and Olsen rear ended them. Olsen was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Lowe sustained damage to the bottom left of the trunk lid and bumper. Olsen had mirror damage to the front bumper. Neither car was towed due to crash.
