THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Christopher D. Spoor, 22, of 272 South Pitman Street, Wagner, was arrested August 8 on a bond forfeiture for indecent solicitation/aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Keith A. Westbrook, 27, of 111 South Houston Street, Taylorville, was arrested August 9 on a bond forfeiture.

Vickie L. Sunderland, 45, of 8197 West Outer Road, Sherman, was arrested August 11 on a bond forfeiture for the issuance of a warrant.

CRASHES:

On August 7 at 6:55am, Robert C. Wood, 44, of Edinburg was traveling southbound on County Highway 5. Just north of County Highway 20, Wood went to follow the slight curve to the left but Wood told police that the vehicle continued straight. Wood's vehicle reportedly exited the roadway to the right, went over a private lane, and entered the west ditch, striking several small trees. Wood continued in a southwest direction before striking the northeast corner of the oil battery containment dike/berm before coming to a rest. Wood's vehicle received major front end and front passenger side damage.Wood was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for injuries described as minor by the report.

On August 10 at 7:15am, Michael L. Young, 38, of Decatur, was traveling northbound on Township Road 1600 East. Just north of Illinois Route 29, a deer entered the roadway. Young was unable to avoid striking the deer. Young received major front end damage. No injuries were reported.

On August 8 at 6:21am, Jordan D. Leischner-William, 22, of Niantic, was northbound on County Road 2025 East. Leischner-William stated he took evasive action to avoid a deer and failed to stop at the intersection of 2975 North. Leischner-William crossed over 2975 North and struck the ditch embankment. Leischner-William caused planted bean damage as it traveled 50 feet before coming to rest in the field. No injuries were reported.

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On August 3 at 1:47am, a Taylorville Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop st the stop light at East Park Street and Walnut Street. After an investigation, Cody C. Sunderland, 27, of Blue Mound was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Sunderland was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released with a notice to appear.

On August 8 at 9:38pm, Taylorville Police Department officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle at Silver and Pauline Streets. After an investigation, Samantha L. McPeek, 32, of Taylorville was arrested for driving on an expired license over one year. McPeek was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released with a notice to appear.

On August 9 at 11:00am, a Taylorville Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. Keith A. Westbrook, Jr., 27, of Taylorville was arrested for a warrant out of Shelby County. Westbrook, Jr. was transported to Christian County Sheriff's Office in lieu of bond.
