Jackson, M's down White Sox

Seattle,  WA  (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin  Jackson smacked a three-run double
and  drove in  all four Seattle runs  as the Mariners topped the Chicago Whit
Sox, 4-2, in the finale of a three-game set.

Chicago seriously threatened Fernando Rodney in the ninth.

Alexei  Ramirez and  Jose Abreu  singled before  Adam Dunn  and Dayan  Viciedo
struck  out. Conor Gillaspie  rolled a base hit up the middle to plate Ramirez
and Tyler Flowers was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Rodney, though, buckled down to fan Jordan Danks on three pitches to notch his
33rd save of the year.

Erasmo Ramirez scattered four hits and walked one before being pulled with one
out  in the fifth  inning. Dominic Leone (5-2) came on to toss 1 2/3 scoreless
frames to notch the win.

Chris  Taylor posted  two hits and two  runs scored for the Mariners, who have
won five of their last six games.

John  Danks  (9-8) allowed four  runs on  eight hits and  two walks over 6 1/3
innings  for  Chicago, which has  dropped seven of  its last nine games. Tyler
Flowers homered in defeat.

"Johnny  pitched  a good  game," White Sox manager Robin  Ventura said of his
starting  pitcher.  "You get a  couple infield rollers  and Jackson had a good
day, but I thought Johnny pitched well enough to win the game."

The  Mariners jumped out  to a 4-0 lead after plating three runs in the second
and another in the seventh.

Three  straight two-out  singles by  Taylor,  Logan Morrison  and Jesus  Sucre
loaded  the  bases before Jackson cleared  them when he looped his double down
the left-field line.

"It  was a big situation,  just to put the ball in play and not try and do too
much,"  Jackson said. "I  was able to get a pitch out over the plate and put a
good swing on it."

Taylor  coaxed  a walk  to  begin  the seventh,  moved  to  second on  Sucre's
sacrifice  bunt and scored  on Jackson's base hit through the hole on the left
side for Seattle's four-run cushion.

The White Sox got on the board in the eighth on Flowers' leadoff shot to left
before making things interesting in the ninth.

                                   Game Notes

Seattle  was 3-for-7  with runners in scoring position, while Chicago finished
1-for-5  ... Jackson  has 38 RBI on  the year ... Flowers' homer was his ninth
