Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 8-8-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Bennie L. Beck, 28, of 103 West 3rd Street, Pana, was arrested August 7 on a bond forfeiture for possession of cannabis of more than 5000 grams.

Rebecca A. Ittenbach, 34, of 400 West Franklin Street Apt 1003, Taylorville, was arrested August 7 for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the life/health of a child.

Phillip R. Daugherty, 36, of 400 West Franklin Street Apt 1003, Taylorville, was arrested August 7 for theft and forgery.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARREST:

On August 5 at 5:33pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Cherokee and Esther. Terri L. Weah, 45, of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license suspended. Weah was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.

CRASHES:

On August 7 at 12:08pm, Kurt M. Powell, 42, of Chicago turned onto Washington Street. Powell completed the turn and began traveling on Washington Street when the top of his semi truck caught overhead electrical wires causing damage to a utility pole and wires. The damaged pole and wires caused power outages to associated buildings/businesses. Powell reported no damage to his vehicle. No injuries were reported.

On August 7 at 12:01pm, a 16-year-old male juvenile was reportedly exiting from Subway and attempting to make a left turn onto Webster Street when Eve M. Carlile, 54, of Blue Mound struck him. The male advised he had someone waive him through traffic and he did not see Carlile before the impact. The male was issued a citation for failure to yield from a private drive. The male's vehicle received front-end damage. Carlile advised she was headed north on Webster Street and just entered the turn lane when the 16-year-old pulled out from Subway in front of her. Carlile's vehicle received front-end damage and she was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital with injuries described as not physically evident by the report.
