The Blue Mound Fall Festival got off to a wet start Thursday night, but better weather is expected for the rest of the event. Good crowds attended despite the rain. The opening night pageants were moved to a church across the street, and a Zumba demonstration was held under Wise Park's large pavilion.
Friday's attractions include a char-broiled pork chop dinner starting at 4:30, and at 8pm, a performance on stage by West End Boogie Project, sponsored by hometown favorite Marshall Sperry.
Saturday events include a 5k run, with the annual parade at 11am. There's a horseshoe pitching tournament at 2pm, followed by a fried chicken dinner at 4. The stage show at 8pm will feature Scott Watles and the Blue Suede Crew.
Both evenings will feature bingo at 6pm and a dance at 9pm, along with carnival rides and plenty of fair food. Wise Park is located just off of Route 48 in Blue Mound.
