THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On August 2 at 6:43pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Poplar in reference to trespassing. Upon arrival, officers learned that Cassandra M. Hampton, 18, of Taylorville and Steven S. Durbin, 22, of Taylorville were just seen inside #5 East Lawn Drive which was an address both parties were given "no trespass orders" for only a few hours prior. After speaking with the homeowner, it was confirmed that they were trespassing and both Hampton and Durbin were placed under arrest for criminal trespass to residence. Both were released on a notice to appear in court.

CRASH:

On August 2 at 1:40pm, Michael W. Cherry, 32, of Springfield backed out of a parking spot at the Taylorville Municipal Airport. Robert W. Cox of Loami was parked along the backside of the parking lot. Cherry then struck Cox's vehicle. Cherry went back into the parking spot and went inside to notify Cox. No injuries reported.
