Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 7-24-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Aaron D. Purcell, 48, of 221 7th PO Box 426, Illiopolis, was arrested July 23 for possession of a controlled substance.

Aaron B. Bice, 39, of 19938 Mechanicsburg-Illiopolis Road, Illiopolis was arrested July 23 for possession of a controlled substance.

CRASHES
On July 22 at 7:30pm, Jeffrey A. Briggerman of Taylorville was parked at the Christian County Fairgrounds in Taylorville. Briggerman stated he was parked approximately 50 yards east of the Expo building. He advised that he was parked at the fairgrounds from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. He later noticed damage to the passenger, front panel and passenger headlight. The other vehicle is unknown at the time of this report.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CRASHES:

On July 20 at 8:50pm, Jonathen T. Kuntzman, 18, of Taylorville was traveling west on Springfield Road and was stopped at the intersection of Cheney Street and Springfield Road waiting to turn left. Kuntzman advised that the traffic light was turning yellow and began to make the turn. Charles L. Moore, 57, of Shelbyville was traveling east on Springfield Road and proceeded into the intersection causing a collision. Moore advised that they were traveling east and noticed that there was a sign to stay in the same lane. Kuntzman advised that he made the turn because he had seen Moore's turn signal on and thought he was turning onto Cheney. Both vehicles were able to drive from the scene. No injuries were reported.

On July 19 at 6:10pm, Kimberly M. Snow, 30, of Taylorville was pulling into a parking space at the Christian County Sheriff's Office. As Snow was pulling in, she may have hit the gas instead of the brake. Snow went through a brick wall, through a small grass area, into the 300 block of Franklin Street, and struck Anna M. Sams, 53, of Taylorville. Sams was traveling east on Franklin. Yolanda M. Logan, 40, of Taylorville reportedly fell out of Snow's vehicle after it had struck the wall. Both vehicles suffered damage and were able to leave the scene. Snow did advise that the vehicle may have had some brake issues. Sams and Logan both reported injuries that were not physically evident but both refused medical treatment according to the report. Snow was driving a 1996 Chevy S10.
