The Taylorville Police Department reports that one person was injured in a hit and run incident over the weekend. On Friday at 2:24pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to Cherokee and Poplar for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. 84-year-old Bonnie J. Wareham of Taylorville said she was traveling south on Cherokee when she was hit in the driver side by 42-year-old Melissa J. White of Taylorville. Wareham's vehicle spun to face north in the east lane on Cherokee. White then reportedly fled on Poplar. On Sunday, White was located and reportedly said she fled the scene due to not having insurance.
