Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 7-01-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Veronica A. Sroczynski, 33, of Coffeen was arrested July 1 on a bond forfeiture for improper use of registration or title.

James H. Mathes, 44, of Springfield was arrested June 30 on a bond forfeiture 720 ILCS 5.0/12-4.6-A

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARREST:

On June 30, an officer was on patrol and observed Dennis R. Brown, 48, of Taylorville driving a vehicle traveling West on Spresser Street. An officer stopped the vehicle and confirmed the driver was Brown. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylorville Police Department. Brown was processed and released on a notice to appear for driving suspended.

On July 1 at 12:28 am, 911 received a call in reference to subjects making threats to others at U.S. Bank. Upon further investigation, Veronica A. Sroczynski, 33, of Coffeen was arrested for a warrant out of Montgomery County. Sroczynski was transported to the Christian County Sheriff's Office in lieu of bond.

On June 29 at 10:03 pm, Taylorville Police Department Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. After an investigation, Aaron M. Steele, 24, of Riverton was arrested for possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials. Steele was transported to the Taylorville Police Department, processed, and transferred to the Christian County Correctional Center.
