The addition of a 5th broadcast studio, at the Miller Media Group studios at 918 East Park in Taylorville, is nearly complete.
Carpet work was completed this week, and the new counter and frame was put in place today (Thursday). Contractor and electrical work is to be completed in the next few days, then the work begins to wire a new broadcast console, microphones, and related equipment into the studio.
The new studio will originate what will be WRAN groovy 97-point-3 come August First, when the company does a major re-alignment of formats and frequencies in its cluster of signals that serve the Taylorville-Pana-Shelbyville area.
General contractor for the new studio work is Brad Siegrist, with electricial work done by Star Electric. Carpet work was done by DeMichiel Floors and More, and heating and cooling work is being done by Blakley Heating and Cooling.
The Miller Media Group will originate programming for 6 signals, from its Taylorville studios, come August First when the format and frequency re-alignment takes place.
The company also owns and operates 2 stations on 3 signals in the Clinton, Illinois market.
