Christian County CEO Steering Committee Sets Date for Investor Meeting

The Christian County Steering Committee called “Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities”, or C-E-O, has announced it will hold a meeting to ask for potential investors in the high school business training program, on Monday, July 21st at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.

Guest speaker will be former Taylorville native Craig Lindvahl, who is executive director of the Midland Institute of Entrepreneurship. The local committee is working with the institute, to bring the year-long program to Christian County high schools.

Plans call for 18 to 24 Christian County High School seniors to participate, with 3 to 5 from each school. Students will be selected thru a rigorous application process, meeting for 90 minutes each day and utilizing area businesses as classrooms.

The program's ultimate goal is to provide the opportunity for each student to start their own business in Christian County.

Lunch will be served, and those who would like to attend should R-S-V-P by calling the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce at 824-4919.
