Becker says the DNR hopes next year the grant will be approved quicker. If the grant was approved earlier, it would have covered the salaries of several pool employees.

The Taylorville Park Board received an update on the Manners Park Pool at their Monday night meeting. Recreation Director Bailey Hancock says they received their first unannounced audit from Ellis and Associates:

Hancock says they have also had a great turnout for their various swim classes.

Maintenance Superintendent Gary Brown told the Park Board while the pool passed the State Inspection this year, if they do not fix the broken pipe in the zero depth area after the pool season is over, they will not be allowed to open next year. The Park Board approved the prevailing wage rate. The Park Board tabled the discussion on the Caretakers House as several Board members were absent.

The meeting adjourned at 7:25pm.
