The Rock Springs Conservation Area will be hosting a special 1860s Independence Day celebration on June 28 from Noon to 4:30pm. The free event will be at the Homestead Prairie Farm.

This free event includes a vintage "base ball" game at 1:00 p.m., played with 1860's rules that include no gloves and no strikes. There will also be an 1800s music concert at 3:00 p.m., and a free ice cream social following the concert.  Old-time games and toys for children and farmhouse tours are
available all afternoon.  
 
Rock Springs Conservation Area is located on the southwestern edge of Decatur.
