Lake Land College nursing instructor, Cheryl Beam of Effingham, was recently named  the director of nursing programs for the college. In her new role, Beam
will be responsible for coordinating the licensed practical and associate degree
nursing programs.

Beam has also recently received endorsement as a certified nurse educator. The
National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator credential is awarded after
studying eight categories for the advanced nurse educator role and taking an exam.

Beam holds a master's degree in nursing and is a registered nurse.  She has worked
as an instructor in the Lake Land nursing programs since 2001.
