The lack of state funding has dealt a devastating blow to a Pana school.  District officials have been forced to shut down the high performing Jefferson Middle School.  The move to close the school will save the school district close to 350-thousand dollars.  The teaching staff at Jefferson will still have jobs next fall, but four support staff positions were eliminated.
