Effingham native Greg Conrad has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 Alumnus Achievement Award by Lake Land College. Conrad, now of Terre Haute, Indiana, studied business in college. According to him, his family urged him to earn a degree because at that time, there were few readily available jobs in the area. Conrad is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of North American Lighting, a non-affiliated automobile lighting supplier in North America.
Max Jaeger of Mattoon, will receive the 2014 Distinguished Service Award for 32 years of service with the Lake Land College. Jaeger has served as vice president of business services, the chair for the Business Division and as a faculty member in that same division during his career at Lake Land.
Conrad and Jaeger will be presented with their respective awards at the 47th annual commencement ceremony this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake Land College Field House.
