Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 5-13-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CRASHES:

On May 11, Steve M. Stolte, 41, of Blue Mound, was transporting a male to the hospital and was traveling northwest on Illinois Route 29. Stolte said that around 1550 East Road, 4 deer ran into the roadway. Stolte stated that he was able to avoid 3 of them but struck the 4th. No injuries were reported. The male being transported to the hospital was then transported by Dunn's Ambulance.

On May 10, Malea R. Elson, 37, of Morrisonville was backing from a parking stall and unable to see a vehicle owned by Barbara Franklin of Morrisonville due to other parked vehicles. Elson backed into the left rear of Franklin. No injuries were reported and both vehicles left the scene.

ARRESTS:

Tommy L. Lewis, 27, of 1364 East Locust, Decatur, was arrested May 12 on a warrant for chemically manufacturing of a controlled substance.

Dylan M. Bilyeu, 22, was arrested May 13 for domestic battery.

Dalton R. Bilyeu, 20, was arrested May 13 for domestic battery.

Danielle L. Coady-Johnson, 36, of 908 East Adams Street, Taylorville was arrested May 12 for driving with a suspended license.

 


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On May 12, a Taylorville Police Department was on patrol and observed a blue vehicle with a female driver traveling north on Shumway Street. A registration check on the vehicle showed that the female registered owner had a warrant out of Bond County. The officer made a stop on the vehicle and made contact with Molly S. White, 40, of Taylorville and identified her as the registered owner. White was placed under arrest and transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

On May 12, a Taylorville Police Department officer was sent to Kroger in reference to a retail theft. The officer spoke to the manage who had called about the theft. The manager said the male juvenile's foster parent Bill Moorehead told him that the male juvenile was in the candy isle for a long time. Moorehead said he watched the male juvenile place a large candy bar in his pocket and then told the manager about the incident. The male juvenile was arrested and transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released to his foster parent.

On May 12 at 10:34pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to 901 West England in reference to an altercation between two brothers. Dylan M. Bilyeu, 22, of Taylorville and Dalton R. Bilyeu, 20, of Taylorville were both arrested for domestic battery and transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing then transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.


CRASH:

On May 12, John S. Steele, 68, of Taylorville was northbound on Shumway Street. Steele stated he stopped and was going to proceed on a yellow light. Steele stated as he attempted to pull into the intersection, he had to stop again for an unknown vehicle. Steele stated after he cleared the unknown vehicle, he proceeded into the intersection and was struck by Mary A. Gatton, 50, of Taylorville. Gatton stated she was eastbound on Spresser when Steele pulled in front of her and she could not stop in time to avoid striking Steele. Steele sustained major damage to the driver's side of the vehicle. Gatton sustained minor damage to the front end. Both units were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.
