U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis of Taylorville will be hosting a summit on human trafficking from 10:00am – 11:30am on Thursday, May 15, at Parkland College, Room D244, in Champaign.
The Human Trafficking Summit will help to shine a light on human trafficking in this area and the rest of the state. It will feature a panel with four guest speakers to lead the discussion on the issue and participate in a conversation about working together to expose and end human trafficking.
The guest speakers include Chris Baker, Founder of INK 180; Aubrey Lloyd, Co-Founder of Uncaged Ministries, Clinical Consultant for Sarah’s Home and a human trafficking survivor; Carolyn Klaus, formed and chaired the Kankakee-Iroquois Human Trafficking Task Force; and Dr. Erin Heil, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
The event is free and open to the public.
