For a third consecutive year, Illinois Coalition for Community Services is partnering with the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville to offer free meals for children in the area this summer. Children up to and including age 18 are invited to eat. No reservations are needed and there are no income restrictions. Persons over the age of 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled are also eligible to eat.
In Taylorville, children can eat at the First United Methodist Church on 200 South Walnut Street or a second west-end location at Davis Memorial Christian Church on 1500 West Franklin Street. Starting June 3rd and running through August 14th, lunch will be served from 12:00-1:00pm Monday through Friday. For more information, contact Community Organizer Mike Crews at (217) 414-2598.
