Lincolnwood Principal Dies in Crash (Updated)

The principal of the Lincolnwood High School in Raymond died in a one-car accident. At 9:04pm Friday night, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle crash that occurred on Black Diamond Trail. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Farmersville-Waggoner Ambulance Service, Farmersville-Waggoner Fire Department, and Pawnee Police Department all responded to the scene. A 2011 Jeep Wrangler driven by 38-year-old Chad Langheim, who is also the co-superintendent of the Panhandle School District, had been traveling southbound on Black Diamond Trial when his vehicle left the roadway, traveled through the west ditch, and struck a large metal culvert. Langheim was injured and extricated from the vehicle. Langheim was airlifted from the scene by Arch Air Medical Services to Memorial Hospital in Springfield where he was later pronounced deceased. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash.
