Two Taylorville residents were sent to the hospital following a 1-vehicle crash last week. On Friday, Donald W. Nance, Jr. of Taylorville was traveling southeast on a curve on Illinois Route 104. Nance went off the roadway to the right and struck the ditch. The vehicle flipped one or two times, hit a set of trees, and came to rest on its top. Jacqueline R. Holmes of Taylorville was thrown from the vehicle about 20 or 30 feet onto the roadway. Holmes was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of injuries. Stacey A. Nance of Taylorville was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for her injuries. Donald Nance reported no injuries and was taken to the Christian County Sheriff's Office to perform field sobriety tests. Nance was then reportedly arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while his license was revoked.
