The Taylorville Police Department has released details on a motorcycle and van colliding last week. On Wednesday, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Morton and Rich for a traffic crash involving a van and motorcycle. Upon arrival, 77-year-old Jack E. Powel of Decatur told police he was traveling east on Rich Street when 23-year-old Chase M. Windell of Taylorville struck the back of his vehicle. Windell said he was traveling north on Morton Street and lost control of his motorcycle. Officers reported that there was a very long skid mark on the pavement and there were grooves in the pavement from where the bike hit. Windell reported injuries that were not physically evident but denied medical attention.
