69-year-old Steve Durbin of Taylorville is the big winner of the $20,250,000 Lotto jackpot. Durbin and his newlywed wife Wilma were at the Taylorville Kroger, where he had purchased the ticket, for a check presentation Thursday afternoon. Wilma tells Regional Radio News about the moment when Steve told her they won the lotto:

Steve says he doesn’t play the lottery often and had this to say when asked why he decided to play this time around:

Wilma says future plans include buying a house, setting some things up for their grandchildren, and traveling. Steve and Wilma were married on March 29th. Durbin chose to take the cash option of $11,631,255.75 which is subject to state and federal withholding. Kroger received a selling bonus check worth $202,500.
