TPD and TRIAD To Host Severe Weather Preparedness Seminar

Now is the time of year we see many severe storms and tornadoes which can often be devastating. Having the knowledge to identify certain types of weather conditions and being prepared can sometimes be the difference between surviving a severe storm or tornado and not.

That is why the Taylorville Police Department and TRIAD are hosting a severe weather preparedness seminar next Thursday, April 24th at 9:30am. This is open to anyone who would like to attend and learn more about the weather and how to prepare for it.

The featured guest speaker will be Taylorville Fire Chief and ESDA Coordinator Mike Crews. Two Midland Weather Radios, which have been donated by Jennifer Albers from CVS Pharmacy, will be given to two lucky winners.

The seminar will be held in the lower level of the City of Taylorville Municipal Building located at 115 N. Main St.

If you have a weather radio that you are having trouble with or unable to program it, bring it with you and they will try to help you with it.

Refreshments will be provided and as always, the seminar is free of charge.
