Fog Machine during THS Musical Triggers False Fire Alarm; High School Evacuated

A fog machine being operated during a performance of the Taylorville High School musical "Fiddler on the Roof", triggered one of the school's fire alarms at 12:40 this afternoon, causing an evacuation of the high school for about 15 minutes.

Taylorville High School principal Bob Richardson told Regional Radio News that the play cast was performing the show for Taylorville Junior High School students when the fog machine caused the fire alarm to go off.

Taylorville Fire and Police responded to the triggered fire alarm.

Students returned to the high school building by 12:55 this afternoon.

The T-H-S musical will go as scheduled this weekend.
