Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 3-26-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CRASHES:

On March 25, Tanya M. Britt of Morrisonville was traveling southeast on Southeast Seventh Street in Morrisonville. Britt was approaching the intersection with Carlin Street. Jesse W. Mollet of Morrisonville was traveling northeast on Carlin Street and was approaching the intersection with SE 7th Street. Britt proceeded into the intersection stating she did not see Mollet. Mollet proceeded into the intersection and struck Britt. Britt received major passenger side damage and Mollet received major front end damage. Mollet was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Note:The only traffic control device is a yield sign which is located on the east corner of the intersection. The yield sign is designated for traffic traveling northwest on SE 7th Street.

On March 24, Douglas A. Thomas of Kincaid was backing out of a parking stall and did not see the parked vehicle behind him. Thomas struck the vehicle in the front end while backing. Thomas did not receive any damage and the other vehicle had minor damage to the front end. No injuries were reported.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLLOWING ARRESTS:

On March 25, a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol and ran the license plate of a Mercury SUV. The plate was expired. The officer stopped the vehicle at Adam and Cheyenne. Following the investigation, Kamala McCombs, 44, of Vandalia was arrested for driving revoked. The passenger, Kelly Lyons, 48, of Vandalia was placed under arrest for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released on a notice to appear.
