White Sox Down Mariners; Ink Quintana To Extension

(Peoria, AZ)  --  Paul Konerko went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer as the White Sox clipped the Mariners 7-6 yesterday in Peoria.  Marcus Semien also went deep on a three-run shot while Erik Johnson gave up three runs in six innings to pick up the win.  The White Sox host the Rockies today.

The White Sox are locking up lefty starter Jose Quintana.  The team has signed him to a five-year extension worth at least 21-million-dollars.  The deal includes club options for 2019 and 2020 at 10.5-million, and 11.5-million-dollars, respectively.  The 25-year-old Quintana enjoyed a breakout season in 2013, going 9-and-7 with a 3.51 ERA in 33 starts.
