Kincaid Village Board Votes to Keep Adams; Dismiss Village Clerk

The Kincaid Village Board met Monday night and was faced with 2 decisions on whether to keep or dismiss village employees. One of those decisions was for Chief of Police Richard Adams who is under investigation for allegedly using city employees to repair his home on city time. The Board trustees voted in a 3-3 tie but Mayor Doug Thomas voted in favor of Adams to break the tie thus keeping Adams who will remain on administrative leave. Village Clerk Cindy Orrison’s employment was another that came up for a vote. The Board voted to dismiss Orrison for allegedly messing up pay/overtime and violating the Open Meetings Act. Orrison’s dismissal is effective immediately. There is reportedly a petition circulating around Kincaid calling for Mayor Thomas to resign. Mayor Thomas is facing charges for violating an order of protection and drug possession after Christian County Sheriff’s deputies found prescription drugs in an unlabeled bottle on him last month. He will return to court April 14th for a preliminary hearing.
