Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired right-
handed relief pitcher Addison Reed from the Chicago White Sox on Monday in
exchange for infielder Matt Davidson.
Reed set career highs in wins, saves, appearances, innings and strikeouts in
2013, going 5-4 with a 3.79 earned run average, 40 saves and 72 strikeouts in
71 1/3 innings over 68 games with the Solid navy;background-color:yellow"> White Sox.
A third-round pick of Chicago in 2010, Reed, who turns 25 on Dec. 27, has
compiled an 8-6 record with a 4.17 ERA and 69 saves in 136 games over three
seasons, all with the Solid navy;background-color:yellow"> White Sox.
Davidson, 22, made his big league debut last season with the Diamondbacks and
hit .237 with six doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI in 31 games. He was
selected 35th overall by Arizona in 2009.
