Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs traded
outfielders on Thursday, as Justin Ruggiano was sent to the Cubs and Brian
Bogusevic was dealt to South Beach.
Ruggiano, 31, batted .222 with 18 homers and 50 RBI in 128 games with the
Marlins last season.
A career .251 hitter with 37 homers and 109 RBI in 317 games with Miami and
Tampa Bay, Ruggiano has batted .281 with a .365 on-base percentage the last
two years against left-handed pitching.
Bogusevic, 29, appeared in 47 games with the Cubs last season, batting .273
with six home runs and 16 RBI.
In parts of four seasons in the big leagues, Bogusevic, a 2005 first-round
pick by Houston, owns a .236 average with 17 home runs and 62 RBI in 299
games.
