Taylorville City Council Discusses Issues Concerning West School Investments LLC

The Taylorville City Council met Monday night and discussed a motion to ratify Mayor Greg Brotherton’s decision to waive any conflict of interest concerning West School Investments LLC and for any legal opinions in the future concerning this matter. City Attorney Rocci Romano explained why he needed the Council to pass this motion:

Alderman Rob Heberling voiced concern over the issue:

At the conclusion of the discussion, the Council unanimously approved the motion.

 

Mayor Greg Brotherton provided an update at the Taylorville City Council meeting in regards to the noise from Ahlstrom’s:

Ahlstrom recently had to install some EPA mandated equipment which is causing the noise.

 

The Council also approved the motion to direct City Attorney Rocci Romano to prepare an ordinance annexing Spresser Street, Cheney Street, and Water Street in the city. The Council approved the proposed ordinance regarding fire hydrants inside city limits with the additional wording of “at the City’s expense”. The Council approved the annual abatement ordinance and approved pay request #4 to McIntire and Company for the Ward II-City Park Addition-Phase 4 Park Avenue Storm Sewer Project.
