Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 11-21-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

Taylor J. Christian, 23, of 105 Garrison Street, Bulpitt, was arrested November 20 on a bond forfeiture for driving on a suspended license.

Tomra C. Friesland, 31, of 816 West Main Cross, Taylorville, was arrested November 20 on a warrant for domestic battery.

ACCIDENTS:

On November 15, Angela M. Bailey, 41, of Sullivan was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 51. Bailey stated shed was looking at the cement trucks on 800 North Road. Bailey stated she was trying to turn left onto 800 Noth Road and did not see Jeremy W. Christer, 34, of Pana traveling northbound on Route 51. Christer did not have time to react and hit Bailey on the front right side of the vehicle. Christer received damage to the front left side of his pickup. Both Bailey and Christer came to a rest facing north by the guard rail. No injuries were reported.

On November 16, a Christian County Sheriff's Deputy was notified by dispatch of an accident report to be taken at the Christian County Sheriff's Office. The deputy spoke with Eva M. Hahn, 66, of Mount Auburn who stated she had struck a deer with her vehicle the night before. Hahn advised the deer had ran into her driver's side causing damage. The deputy observed the damage on the vehicle indicative of a deer/car collision. No injuries reported.

On November 19, Luke E. Barringer, 23, of Stonignton, was traveling north on 1500 East Road. Barringer then lost control of the vehicle in loose gravel. Barringer went through the ditch on the west side of the roadway and entered a field. Barringer the attempted to re-enter the roadway by driving back through the ditch. When Barringer re-entered the ditch, he turned over and came to rest in an overturned position in the ditch. Barringer was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

On November 19, Jeannine N. Beaty, 22, of Harvel was northbound on County Highway 1 approximately 3/10ths of a mile south of 800 North Road when a deer ran out from the west side of the road. The deer hit Beaty in the driver's side front fender causing damage to the headlight, fender, and driver's door. No injuries reported.

On November 19, Karen S. Dorr, 64, of Owaneco was southbound on 1400 East Road south of 1100 North Road when a deer ran into the roadway and struck Door on the passenger side. No injuries reported.

On November 14, Robert L. Koniak, 80, of Sawyerville, was westbound on IL Rt. 16 approximately 2/10ths of a mile west of 1950 East Road when he ran off the roadway on the right. Koniak was off the road for 104" before coming back onto the roadway. Koniak overcorrected and crossed the center line, then corrected again and crossed back into the westbound lane. Koniak traveled 199" on the roadway before going off the road into the right side ditch. Koniak overturned multiple times and traveled 180" in the ditch before coming to a stop on the driver's side. Koniak was taken to Pana Community Hospital for treatment of injuries.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ACCIDENTS:

On November 19, James H. Phillips, 77, of Taylorville was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 48 and slowed to turn on to Lincoln Trail. Phillips failed to yield to Jesse J. Wherry, 35, of Decatur. Wherry was traveling south on Rt. 48. Wherry struck Phillips on the passenger side as he was turning. Phillips was pushed into Alyssa R. Dexheimer, 24, of Assumption. Dexheimer was waiting at the light on Lincoln Trail at the intersection. No injuries reported. Phillips was issued a citation for failure to yield.
