The investigation continues into missing funds from the Taylorville Police Benevolent and Protective Association, and a popular Christmas program has been cancelled, apparently as a result of theft from the organization.

Veteran Taylorville Police Officer Brad Mollohon was arrested by Illinois State Police Friday on charges related to misappropriation of funds from the association.  Mollohon was subsequently released on bond. 

Saturday, the association announced in a press release that the Kids, Cops and Christmas program for this year is being cancelled as a result of the missing funds.  The press release indicated the organization is undergoing a restructuring process intended to prevent any future misappropriations.  Donations already given to the association for 2013 will be returned.
