Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 11-13-13

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:
On November 12 at 9:14am, a Taylorville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy pickup. The officer ran the plate number and it came back expired. The driver was identified as Lawrence E. Coghlan, 39, of Taylorville. The officer ran Coghlan's info through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and he came back with a suspended driver's license. Coghlan was arrested for driving suspended. He was issued citations for driving suspended and expired sticker. Coghlan was processed and released on a notice to appear.

On November 12, a Taylorville Police Department officer made contact with Michelle L. Smith, 40, of Taylorville at her residence. The officer knew Smith to have a valid warrant out of Sangamon County. The officer ran her info through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and verified the warrant. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

ACCIDENTS:
On November 6, Joshua P. Greer, 26, of Taylorville was backing out of a driveway located in the 1300 block of Knute Rockne Drive. Greer did not see the vehicle which was legally parked across the street. Greer struck the vehicle causing damage. Both vehicle were able to drive from the scene. No injuries were reported.

On November 8, Cara M. Dunn, 38, of Taylorville was backing out of a parking space and backed into a fuel pump. Mach One provided a DVDR of the incident. Mach One stated the damage will cost $500. No injuries reported.
