Governor Pat Quinn has announced a capital investment of more than $1.8 million for a construction project in Christian County.
A bridge carrying West Lake Shore Drive over the south fork of the Sangamon River at the Lake Taylorville Spillway will be replaced for $1,879,553 by Freesen, a Division of United Contractors Midwest, Inc. of Springfield, the lowest of six bidders. The project will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
This project is part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
