The Christian County Economic Development Corporation board of directors held their annual meeting Friday morning at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium, to review current economic development efforts in the county.

One of the speakers was board member Mike Bell of Edinburg, who also heads up the Route 29 Committee.  Bell told the board about the status of construction of the remaining 6-point-3 miles of highway around Edinburg to complete the road as 4 lanes from Taylorville to Springfield.

Bell shared with Regional Radio News what he told the board, saying that the first lip of asphalt is currently being laid.

And, Bell told the C-C-E-D-C board on Friday, that the Ayerco C-Store that will move from its present location on the present Route 29 in Edinburg, to a location next to the new 4-lane highway, and will include a Subway restaurant.

Bell is also a member of the Edinburg School Board.
