Governor Quinn Announces $6.4 Million for Eastern Illinois Local Transportation Improvements

Governor Pat Quinn joined local and area officials to announce $6.4 million from his Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program that can be used to repair municipal, township and county infrastructure in eastern Illinois. The funds are in addition to the annual Motor Fuel Tax revenues these municipalities are scheduled to receive this year. Local counties that received funds are: Macon County – $925,013, Moultrie County – $186,037, Piatt County – $248,698, and Shelby County – $394,681. The $6.4 million is part of the fourth part in a series of annual grants that have come to municipalities for local transportation projects under the Illinois Jobs Now! program since 2010.
