THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING

ACCIDENTS:

On October 8, Sabrina R. Reed, 33, of Assumption was northbound on North Poplar Street in Assumption. Adam D. Thull, 32, of Tower Hill was westbound on East First Street. Reed approached the yield sign at East First Street and proceeded through the intersection. Thull struck the right front of Reed in the middle of the intersection. No injuries were reported. Reed was towed from the scene by Double D Towing of Assumption. Reed was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop/yield intersection.

On October 6, Marilyn E. Stephens, 59, of Taylorville was southbound on Township Road 1000 East. Donald Hooper, 82, of Edinburg was northbound on Township Road 1000 East. One half mile north of Township Road 1900 North Road, Stephens and Hooper met at a hillcrest and struck each other with the left front corner of both vehicles. Both vehicles received major damage and both Stephens and Hooper, who were the only occupant in their vehicles, were transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment of injuries.

ARRESTS:

Joseph P. Keer, 27, of RR 2 Box 5A, Tower Hill, was arrested October 7 on a bond forfeiture for resisting a peace officer.
