International Chilli Society Cook-Off Winners Announced Sunday at Taylorville Chillifest

(Taylorville)—Winners were announced in Sunday’s judging during the International Chilli Society Central State Regional Cook-Off, during the 2nd day of the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest.

In chilli judging, first place winner was Mary Thomas of Clinton, Illinois, who won 750-dollars and a plaque.  Thomas also earned the right to particicpate in the I-C-S World Champioinship.  Second place winner was Bob Dunn of Taylorville, Illinois, who won 200-dollars and a plaque.  Third place went to Georgia Weller of Rockton, Illinois, who won 100-dollars and  a plaque.  Honorable mentions were awarded to Jeff Netzer of Seymour, Indiana, and Cathy Schmedeke of Clinton, Illinois.

In chilli verde judging Sunday at the Greater Taylorville Chamber Chillifest, first place winner was Bob Dunn of Taylorville, who won 200-dollars, a plaque, and the right to compete at the I-C-S World Championship.

Second place went to Jim Weller of Rockton, Illinois, who won 50-dollars and a plaque.  Third place went to Bob Hall of Taylorville, Illinois, who won 25-dollars and a plaque.  Honorable mentions went to Lloyd Weir of Normal, Illinois ,and David Thordarson of Bloomfield, Indiana.

In the salsa judging, first place winner was Lloyd Weir, who won 100-dollars, a plaque, and the right to compete in the I-C-S World Championship.  Second place winner was Tom Hoover of Columbus, Ohio, who won 25-dollars and a plaque.  Third place went to Julie Netzer of Seymour, Indiana, who won a plaque.
