(Taylorville)—The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest kicked off on Saturday morning by crowning a new Little Miss, Little Mister, and Junior Miss Chilli Peppers on the Chillifest stage.
There were 18 contestants vying for the title of Little Miss, 8 for Little Mister, and 10 contestants for Junior Miss Chilli Pepper, during the pageant.
In the Little Miss contest, the 2013 winner was Ella Brooks Hohenstein, the 6-year-old daughter of Neil and Elizabeth Hohenstein of Taylorville. First runner-up was Lillian Jostes, the 4-year-old daughter of Michael and Bobby Jo Jostes of Pana. 2nd runner-up was Joey Laker, the 5-year-old daughter of John and Debbie Laker of Pana.
In the Little Mister contest, this year’s winner was Cash O’Connell, the 5-year-old son of Ashley McCallister and Justin O’Connell of Taylorville. First runner-up was Ethan Daniel Smith, the 6-year-old son of Sheena Barry and Brent Smith of Taylorville. 2nd runner-up was Tharyn Wiseman, the 6-year-old son of Brett and Vanessa Wiseman of Taylorville.
In the newly added Junior Miss Chilli Pepper competition, the winner was 12-year-old Sidney Wagner, the daughter of Dave and Shannon Wagner of Taylorville. First runner-up was Faith Lindsey, the 12-year-old daughter of Kylie Barlow and Jim Lindsey of Taylorville. 2nd runner-up was Grace Blakley, the 13-year-old daughter of Jim and Kim Blakley of Taylorville. Emily Kuhn was voted on by the contestants as Miss Congeniality; she’s the 12-year-old daughter of Brad and Gina Kuhn of Pana.
