Saturday’s first day of the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest, was not without its controversy.
A group marching to promote the passage of legislation giving illegal immigrants citizenship, marched across the east side of the square, and ended up at the Taylorville office of U-S Congressman Rodney Davis.
Davis’ office was closed, and the Congressman wasn’t there during the march.
The march involved around 100 people who chanted and were asking Davis to support citizenship for illegal immigrants. The march held up traffic on East Market Street just off the square, for a time Saturday afternoon. The march was peaceful.
