The Christian County Board was presented with a proposal for a new food preparation service at the County jail at their meeting Tuesday night. Board member Fred Curtin shared the details of the proposal that was presented by Chief Deputy Bruce Engeling at the Audit/Finance/Purchasing Committee meeting:
The Board approved the contract with Consolidated Catering for $2.23 per meal. The start date will be either December 1st or January 1st.
Chairman Paul Schmitz updated the Christian County Board at their meeting Tuesday night about the ownership of the Anderson Cemetery. After title work was done by Spurling Title, it was determined the County owns the cemetery. Schmitz told the Board how they came into possession of the cemetery:
The Board will pay for the title work and the filing fee with the State declaring its exempt status which totals $425.
The County Board was updated on the possible merger of the Panhandle and Morrisonville School Districts. The Board was told that the filing process is moving along and that there is a hearing on October 22nd at the Lincolnwood Auditorium at 7:00pm. The Board was told that the Audit/Finance/Purchasing Committee briefly discusses the designation of video gaming revenue and decided to work on the Fiscal Year 2014 budget first. The Board approved the quote of $680 from Lowes Paving for the seal coating of the parking lot at the Probation Building. They also approved the Illinois County Insurance Trust liability insurance renewals which totals $199,044. The Board approved the agreement from the University of Illinois Extension for the payment of levy funds that total $169,826.13. The Board was told that further research is being done on a possible phone and internet upgrade for all County buildings.
