Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

The Pana Police Department is looking for a suspect in an armed robbery incident. On Tuesday, Pana Police Department received a 911 transfer call in reference to an armed robbery which had just occurred at the Marathon service station on 703 East Jackson Street. One individual reportedly entered the business and demanded money from the clerk while displaying a dark-colored handgun. The subject obtained a small amount of U.S. currency before exiting the business.

 

The subject is being described as approximately 5’10” to 6’00”, 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a mask and dark colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

 

A vehicle possibly involved in the incident was described as a small gray pickup, last seen heading southbound from the business on Hickory street. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit is assisting with the investigation.
