Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 7-22-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Maggie D. Dust, 37, of 5 South Walnut Street, Pana, was arrested July 21 for aggravated battery on a policing volunteer and fireman. 

Colt A. Stephens, 24, of 408 Dial Street, Kincaid, was arrested July 20 for theft.

Christopher L. Christian, 43, of 203 Cleveland Box 264, Tower Hill, was arrested on July 19 on a original arrest warrant for 3 counts of methamphetamine precursor.

John W. Sorrells, 30, of 905 South Wyandotte Street, Taylorville, was arrested July 21, on a bond forfeiture for aggravated driving under the influence and causing great bodily harm to another.

Lawrence E. Coghlan, 39, of 1207 West Park Avenue, Taylorville, was arrested July 21 for production of 20 to 50 plants of cannabis. 

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:
On July 19, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to Walgreens in reference to a retail theft. Josh Lynch, 31, of Taylorville, was the suspect and was located a short time later. Lynch was placed under arrest and transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing. He was released on a notice to appear.

On July 20, Lisa Harker advised Taylorville Police Department that she and her morther, Claudia Skinner, were threatened by Abigale House, 24, of Taylorville. Harker said House became upset with her, they exchanged words and then House threatened her and Skinner with an ax. House was arrested, processed and released on a Notice to Appear. The ax was placed into evidence.

On July 21, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to 1121 East 1500 North Road Apartment H3 in reference to a battery that had just happened. Shawn D. Watkins, 35, of Taylorville was located at Mach One on Route 29 and Route 104. Watkins was arrested for battery and transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing. He was released on a notice to appear.

On July 18 around 9:44am, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to the intersection of Park Street and Cherokee Street for a traffic crash. Alice L. Holland, 88, of Taylorville, stated she was traveling west on Park Street and was turning to left to go south on Cherokee. Holland said there was a green light and she did not see Cecilia Corriveau, 51, of Taylorville coming. Holland started to turn and struck Corriveau. Corriveau stated she was traveling east on Park Street and had a green light at the intersection when Holland turned in front of her and she was unable to stop in time and struck Holland. No injuries were reported. Holland was cited with failure to yield.
