Local Teachers Receive Grants from Ronald McDonald House

Several local teachers received grants from the Ronald McDonald House. Teachers had to give presentations on how they use technology in the classroom to the owners/operators of Davis Organizations Marty, Donna and Brad Davis and also Kelly Thompson, Executive Director of Springfield Ronald McDonald House, Taylorville McDonald's manager Kenny Stewart, and Karen Ladage, Community Relations at Taylorville McDonald's. Karen Kuntzman, a 1st Grade teacher at North School, tells Regional Radio News what her grant is for:

Karen’s and Dawn Reiser's grant was written for 4 Promethean Boards, along with the Activote system, a document camera, tablet, and wand extensions for the younger students.  Their grant was approximately $10,000. Junior High teacher Jennifer Wise also received a grant for 3 sets of Promethean ActivExpression Responders with full texting pads.  Her grant was for approximately $8500.00.
