Board member Katie Fraley told Frump a tough choice had to be made:

After hearing arguments from several other parents, the Board stood by their decision and said this could just be the start of cuts at the high school if the state doesn't right itself. Several Board members recommended going to Lincoln Land Community College or taking classes online to fulfill those extra classes.

The Taylorville School Board was presented with the 2013 General Supply List. Superintendent Dr. Gregg Fuerstenau says they received a donation from Tenaska that helped cut the costs of some supplies:

Tenaska pulled out of the Taylorville Energy Center project last month.

The Taylorville School Board was shown a proposal by High School Principle Robert Richardson for a Code of Fan Conduct Policy. The Board is looking to crack down on unacceptable behavior at sporting events after being contacted by the IHSA. Board Member Jim Andruch says they have to be careful on where to draw the line:

The Board plans to take action on the policy at their meeting next month.

The Taylorville School Board approved the recommendation of a diploma being awarded to David Foster after fulfilling the requirements to graduate. Foster was unable to attend the meeting on Monday night. The Board also approved a resolution for allowance of Inter-Fund transfers. The Board accepted the 2013-2014 Elementary Textbook Order and the renewal of the Memorial Sports Medicine Coverage Agreement. The Board agreed to invite Ameresco back after they took several proposals for the performance contract for energy conservation and facility projects. The Board will have a special meeting with them before next month's regular board meeting. The Board approved Director of Music Chris Gunn’s request to present a clinic at the Illinois Music Education Association’s 2014 Music Education Conference that will feature the High School Jazz Band and Gunn’s request for the traditional band trip that occurs every two years. The Board accepted the contracts with the Taylorville Education Association and the Taylorville Education Supports Personnel and also approved the non-bargaining salaries.

The meeting adjourned around 9:11pm.
