Two Taylorville Residents Arrested for Meth Manufacturing

On Wednesday, July 3rd, at approximately 2:00pm, the Taylorville Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious item in the 700 block of Vandeveer, Taylorville. Officers arrived and located numerous items pertaining to the production of methamphetamine including coffee filters, cold packs, and lithium batteries. The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team assisted in processing the scene.

Following the joint investigation between the Taylorville Police Department and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team, 31-year-old Jason K. Beaty and 59-year-old Gerald L. Olive were arrested for aggravated unlawful participation in meth production. Beaty and Olive are being held in the Christian County Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
